IN GOLDEN CAGE

IN GOLDEN CAGE
When I wished to sing,
I forgot all my songs.
Songs I sang in moonlit nights,
Found frozen at throat.
When I wished to play my fiddle.
I found its strings broken.
When I wished to dance,
I found my feet fastened.
When wings of desires wished to fly,
Found bleeding, cut by unknown sword.
Staring at vast blue expanse,
Stood my thoughts weary-struck!
In a glorious golden cage,
Yet another bird too wriggled in pain.
Without weeps, without screams,
Swathed a soul in silence's lap!
